Beach, sport and… hundreds of thousands zlotys to help children

What does a beach on a Vistula bank, the real estate sector and help to children taken care of by the Children’s Memorial Health Institute, have in common? As it turns out – a lot. On 4 August 2016 the seventh Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament of the Commercial Property Sector was held – the Olivia Business Centre was honoured to be a partner of the event.

This year another record was broken. As much as PLN 360,100 was collected for the Children’s Memorial Health Institute. The funds were acquired from registration of teams, auctions of objects offered by sponsors and individual contribution; the funds will be used to buy two commercial vehicles to transport blood and medical products. And this is by far the most important news.

Tomasz Trzósło, Managing Director, JLL Poland, comments: “360,100 PLN is an all-time record and a result of which we can all be proud. Since 2010, we have collected in total 1,180,000 PLN which has been donated to different foundations. We would like to thank all the companies, partners, sponsors as well as auction participants for their generosity, openness and co-operation over the years. Furthermore, we would also like to thank the volleyball teams for their sportsmanship and their fight to the last. This is a great success for the whole industry. Hope to see you next year at the Tournament’s 8th edition”.

However, the scale of the event organised by JLL was most impressive. There were 44 teams that participated in the tournament with overall 308 players; there were about 1500 persons involved in the entire event. The players were struggling on five courts for almost 9 hours – sometimes in drizzle, sometimes in blazing sun. As many as 104 played games resulted in finding the winner – the representation of Panattoni Europe.

Additionally, there is a most pleasant factor which is the atmosphere of the event that it is hard to present with photos or description. This is a unique combination of healthy sports rivalry and an opportunity to integrate representatives of the entire sector. Spectacular, sacrificing actions on the courts of which even professionals could be proud, took place at the same time as animations in playgrounds for children. This is an event that combines a good healthy life style, recreation in fresh air, business networking and constitutes real help in achieving the good cause. This is a tournament that not only releases the fire of sports rivalry but also could well up eyes of more sensitive people with tears when the symbolic cheque was handed over to the representatives of the Foundation.

The Olivia Business Centre was honoured with being a Partner of this year’s edition of the tournament and a sponsor of prizes for the winning team.

The players who were involved in a game, could regenerate or… produce additional money on bicycles. Each kilometre covered was worth one zloty.
