Summer Thursday under the palm trees

Another Summer Under the Palms campaign is behind us. This time instead of ice cream we served cotton candy and popcorn, the jazz band turned into a DJ! We’re glad we were able to put you in a good mood ahead of the weekend. What are we going to serve next week? You’ll find out next Friday at 11 a.m.!

Our summer campaign aims to bring closer the idea of our

Garden, which grows in the very heart of Olivia:) During the day, the over 1000-square-meter Garden, filled with greenery, is to serve as a place for meetings, relaxation and workshop space, and in the evenings it will serve as a center of social and artistic events, also dedicated to the residents of the Tri-City.

In our voting, the waterfall won (:

Music is good for everything, or about the last installment of Olivia Camerata before the summer holidays

Charismatic performances of the most famous operettas and film music hits warmed up the musical emotions of a record number of guests of our Olivia Camerata series, which has already taken place over 11 times!

The audience of the concert was over 110 people (including entire multigenerational families and families with children), passionate about operettas, musicals and film musical hits, which filled the Olivia Sky Club hall on Saturday afternoon, July 1.

The program of the over an hour long concert, which ended with a standing ovation, 3 encores and many individual thanks, included the greatest hits of the operetta, including, apart from tango and czardasz, “Dance the Night Away” from the musical “My Fair Lady”, “Somewhere my love” from the film “Doctor Zhivago”, “A Bit of Happiness in Love” (“Ada to nie wywa”) or “I will wait for you” (“Umbrellas from Cherbourg”). Ewelina Wojciechowska (soprano), an artist who performs at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk on a daily basis, was accompanied on the piano by a renowned pianist, Dr. Anna Mikolon. The extraordinary talent of the artist and the intricate performances of her accompaniment, Dr. Anna Mikolon, will remain in the memory of our community passionate about culture and chamber music for a long time.

High culture has an extraordinary strength and energy. It carries universal values, increases the quality of life, and is also important for our personal and, too, professional development. That is why projects dedicated to supporting and popularizing it, including our own one, Olivia Cooltura, are so important to us. We want OBC to be a place of unique, inspiring meetings from which Olivia’s employees and the residents of our metropolis draw – says Monika Bogdanowicz from Olivia Business Centre, originator and coordinator of Olivia Cooltura – We initiated a series of chamber concerts as part of Cooltura in 2016. So far, 11 of them have been held. We invite everyone interested to the Camerata do Olivia, as the events organized as part of Olivia Cooltura are open to the general public.

Olivia Cooltura is an interdisciplinary project of Olivia Business Centre, aimed at popularizing and promoting culture in its entirety. Dedicated to both the employees of the Olivia complex and the residents of the Tri-City, Olivia Cooltura is intended to integrate the community centred around Olivia and serve the construction and development of mutual relations. Since 2016, Olivia Cooltura has been carrying out m.in. a series of chamber and classical music concerts, Olivia Camerata; Inspiring meetings with authors are also organized. So far, the guests of the latter have been m.in. Marek Kamiński, Magdalena Grzebałkowska, Paweł Tkaczyk, Aleksandra Pogorzelska and Anna Miotk.

Olivia chooses Gdańsk, do it too!

With the start of the St. Dominic’s Fair – one of the oldest and the biggest fair and exhibition events in Europe –
socio-educational project called “Choose Gdańsk. For living and working”
organised by Gdańsk Global Foundation begins. Olivia Business Centre proudly supports the action. The project is to tell us a few words about the potential of Gdańsk by presenting its strong sides and hard arguments speaking in favour of them, and presenting people who decided to make Gdańsk their home. They chose this place for living and working. The project is being co-ordinated under the honorary patronage of the President of the City of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz.

– We, Gdańsk residents, love our city and we know very well why – says
Jarosław Śmigiel
, marketing director at Olivia Business Centre. – Now we want to convince others that it is a wonderful place not only for living, but also for working. It is a good place to establish lasting ties for many years or maybe for the whole life, also professional one.

The project focuses on key issues for people who consider relocation, like comfort of life, education, work, health, sport, culture and art, social integration, innovativeness and entrepreneurship.

During St. Dominic’s Fair you can look out for some other interesting facts and data concerning Gdańsk, which confirm that it is an ideal place for living and working.

Thanks to the cooperation with Gdańsk International Fair, the project will reach, according to organisers’ calculations, more than one and a half million people (from outside Gdańsk) who visit St. Dominic’s Fair. The arguments for living in Gdańsk appear, among other things, in information and advertisement media promoting this unique event for the city.

The website

wybragdansk.p
l

, on which, among other things, information and interesting facts about the city, as well as profiles of people who chose this place for living and working will be presented, is dedicated to the initiative “Choose Gdańsk”. The informative action will be held also on Facebook and Instagram. The start of this project’s edition will be accompanied by the change of its visual identification. New logo and visual identification system were developed by Linia2 Agency.

Ultimately, the project is to be presented during key events for Gdańsk, in cooperation with institutions, which activities cover promotion of the city and Gdańsk agglomeration in Poland and abroad.

The organiser of “Choose Gdańsk. For living and working” is Gdańsk Global Foundation. The project is being co-ordinated under the honorary patronage of the President of the City of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz. The action, apart from Olivia Business Centre and Gdańsk International Fair, is supported also by the Employers of Pomerania, Gdańsk Foundation, European Solidarity Centre and Gdańsk Tourism Organisation.

Together we can do more! Olivia Business Centre with help for Pomeranians.

On Friday (18.08), representatives of Olivia Business Centre visited the areas of Pomerania affected by the cataclysm. It was not an easy journey… We went m.in. to the Commune Office in Chojnice, we talked with inspector Adam Kuklewski and the director of the municipal education team, Mrs. Bernadette Zimnicka. Together, we analyzed the situation and the needs of the residents and decided to purchase a power generator, tarpaulins and saws, which today (21.08) will be handed over by Olivia Business Centre to those in need in Chojnice.

We have also received an account number from which the funds go to those most in need:

46 8162 0003 0000 1531 2000 0070 (please write “HELP FOR STORM VICTIMS” in the title).

It is a proven account, from which the money will be well distributed and will certainly help the residents, so you can deposit any amount into it without any worries.

However, an issue that requires long-term action is to help the school in Silno. The school suffered a lot of damage, a large part of the roof was torn off, some rooms were flooded. Now, together with the Chojnice Commune Office, we are waiting for the valuation of damages and information from the insurance company, a moment later we will determine to what extent we can join in the reconstruction of the school!

If companies from Olivia Business Centre, but not only, would like to join the action to help the school (e.g. by declaring possible financial support), please contact us at razem@oliviacentre.com.

The school is used not only by students (kindergarten students and toddlers from grades 1-3), but also by the local community. This makes it all the more important for us to regain one of the key places for its residents.

We are in constant contact with the Victims, we inform you about all the news on this topic on our Facebook.

This is a valid bank account, from which money will be properly distributed and will surely help the residents, so you can pay any sum without any concerns.

Not only students (pre-school children and children from classes 1-3) benefit from the school, but also the local community. All the more, we want to help Silno regain one of the most crucial places for its residents.

Remember, together we can do more!

Summer under Palm Trees

Another edition of Summer under Palm Trees has come to an end! This time, we refreshed ourselves while listening to the music of amazing Jacek Kulesza and we made new friends while waiting for energizing juices. Once again, a voting took place concerning what you would like to have in our garden – this time there was a clash between hammocks and deckchairs. Hammocks have won. Thank you all for coming and see you next Thursday. We will be waiting with new surprises!

Our summer project is to put some light on the idea of our Garden, which is growing in the heart of Olivia 🙂 During the day, filled with greenery, with an area of more than 1000 square metres, the Garden is supposed to serve you as a place of meetings, workshops and a place to relax, while in the evenings, it is supposed to be a centre of social and artistic events dedicated also to Tricity’s residents.
