Olivia Camerata in its autumn edition invites you on October 13th!
The summer was exceptionally hot this year, but it is slowly becoming history. Autumn is just around the corner and the atmosphere of warm family meetings! After the summer break, we are back to more meetings with chamber music in the Olivia Star lobby. There are 3 ahead of us. Concert from this year’s cycle “The Four Seasons”: Autumn. We would like to invite you to a unique concert of Olivia Camerata – a meeting with outstanding musicians and their artistically talented children.
October 13, 2018 at 4.00 p.m., in the lobby of Olivia Star, there will be performances by: soprano Bogna Forkiewicz with her daughter Blanka Błażejowska (violin, vocals) and a musical couple – pianist Alicja Wieczorek and clarinetist Grzegorz Wieczorek with daughter Basia (oboe) and son Szymon (clarinet).
During the concert, you will be able to admire the artworks of Jan Błażejowski and Szymon Wieczorek.
We will try to say goodbye to summer in a pleasant mood and welcome autumn, golden autumn shimmering with various musical colours.

Artists’ biographies:
Bogna Forkiewicz – soprano. She graduated with honours from the Faculty of Vocal and Acting at the Gdańsk Academy of Music in the solo singing class of Prof. Zofia Janukowicz-Pobłocka. She continued her education in Great Britain (Emma Kirkby, Jessica Cash) and in the Netherlands (Jard van Nes). She has also completed numerous master classes in Poland and abroad under the direction of m.in Barbara Schlick (Leipzig), Thomas Hemsley (Budapest National Opera), Renata Scotto (Gdańsk), Sylvia Geszta (National Opera in Warsaw), and Grace Bumbra (Hertogenbosch, Warsaw). He collaborates with philharmonics and opera theatres in Poland, takes part in music festivals in Poland and abroad, m.in Wratislavia Cantans, Lutosławski Forum (National Philharmonic), Andrzej Panufnik Festival (Kraków), Musica Polonica Nova (Wrocław), Knechtsteden Festliche Tage Alter Musik in Germany, Organ Music Festival in Kamień Pomorski, International Festival of Organ, Choral and Chamber Music Gdańsk (St. Mary’s Basilica). She has worked with eminent conductors, m.in. Wojciech Michniewski, Jacek Kaspszyk, Jerzy Salwarowski, Mirosław J. Błaszczyk, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Marcin Nałęcz-Niesiołowski, Adrian Sylvin Mackiewicz. He collaborates with outstanding pianists, m.in. Ewa Pobłocka, Ella Susmanek, Rafał Lewandowski, Maciej Grzybowski, Olga Neczyporenko, Paweł Rydel, Mirosław Sumlińska. Among the most important performances, it is worth mentioning the participation in the world premiere of the seventeenth-century musical “Don Quixote” to the music of Purcell and Eccles, prepared under the direction of Anthony Rooley, the Polish premiere of David Fanshawe’s “African Sanctus” at the Szczecin Philharmonic and the National Philharmonic, monographic concerts of all song cycles by Juliusz Łuciuk (Warsaw, Krakow), the Polish premiere of St. Luke Passion by G. Ph. Telemann in Białystok, four performances of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Wedding” under the Wojciech Michniewski has been the director of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Krakow Philharmonic. Her repertoire includes solo song and contemporary music. She has taken part in many radio and television recordings. She has given concerts in England, Scotland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Hungary and Croatia. His artistic achievements include performances of many soprano parts in works of chamber music, opera (especially Mozart, Bellini, Donizetti), oratorio and symphonic music from Renaissance masters to composers of the twentieth century. He also reaches for lighter repertoire: operetta, musical, jazz, film music and song. Together with the pianist Rafał Lewandowski, she has performed several dozen recitals of Polish songs of the 1920s and 1930s. For promoting the music of that period, she was awarded the Golden Retro Leaf 2014.
Alicja Wieczorek –piano. Alicja Wieczorek graduated in 2000 from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the piano class of Professor Zbigniew Śliwiński. In the same year, she began working as an accompanist at the Instrumental Department of her alma mater. She owes her skills in the field of chamber music to a large extent to her work in chamber ensembles led by Professor Anna Prabucka. While still a student, she received the second prize at the National Chamber Pianists Competition in Częstochowa in 1993. She has received numerous awards for her accompaniment during competitions, where she performed at the Wiktor Gadziński National Double Bass Competition in Katowice (2006), at the XXXII Young Musician Competition in Szczecinek, at the First Meetings of Young Wind Musicians in Elbląg, at the National Wind Instrument Competition “Miniatura 2011”, twice at the Double Bass Competition in Starogard Gdański (in 2010 and 2012), at the Second Włocławek Violin Meetings (2011), at the National CEA Auditions of Secondary Music School Students. Violin and Viola Classes in Kielce (2013), at the VI West Pomeranian Clarinet Festival in Szczecin (2014), at the XVI Academic Clarinet Competition in Włoszakowice (2015), at the National Viola and Double Bass Competition in Gdańsk (2016), at the CEA National Clarinet Competition in Katowice (2016). She has accompanied during many courses and workshops conducted in the Tri-City by Jean-Marc Fessard, Antonio Saiote, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Andrew Marriner, Wolfgang Meyer and others, as well as during three editions of the International Wind Instrument Workshops in Szczecinek (2008, 2009 and 2010). He also works as a teacher at the Music School Complex in Gdańsk – Wrzeszcz. She often performs in a duet with her husband, Grzegorz Wieczorek – clarinetist. In the years 2005 – 2008 she was the president of the Gdańsk Association of Music Lovers.
Grzegorz Wieczorek – clarinet. Grzegorz Wieczorek, born in 1974, graduated from the Secondary Music School in Gdańsk-Wrzeszcz in the clarinet class of prof. Andrzej Pietras. In 1996 he began his studies at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk under the supervision of the same teacher. After the death of Prof. Andrzej Pietras became a student of prof. Mark Schiller, in whose class he graduated with honors in 2001. He is a laureate of many awards and distinctions. The most important of them are: 1st prize won at the Competition of the Department of Wind Instruments of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk for a scholarship of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe, 1997, special mention (in the category of chamber ensembles) at the 3rd Concurso International de Musica de Buenos Aires en la categoria Musica de Camera, Argentina 1998, 2nd prize (in the category of soloists) and 1st prize (in the category of chamber ensembles) at the 3rd Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski, 1999, Second Prize and Special Prize at the 11th Academic Clarinet Competition in Włoszakowice. In 2000 he received the Scholarship of the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk, and a year later he was honored with the second prize in the category of the Best Student of the Tri-City, in the competition for the “Red Rose” Award. He perfected his skills during courses, working under the guidance of such outstanding teachers as: Andrzej Janicki, Mieczysław Stachura, Wolfgang Meyer, Jean-Marc Fessard, Antonio Saiote, David Campbell, Philippe Cuper. Grzegorz Wieczorek is a soloist of the Baltic Opera Orchestra in Gdańsk, cooperates with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic of Wojciech Rajski, and performs as a soloist and chamber musician. He is permanently associated with the “Hevelius” clarinet quartet, the Gdańsk Wind Instruments Ensemble, as well as the Polish Basethorn Ensemble. Since 2001 he has been employed at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, and in the academic year 2011/2012 he took the position of assistant professor at the same academy.
Blanka Błażejowska, 12 years old, is a student of the sixth grade of Primary School No. 8 in Gdynia – Orłowo and the Primary Music School. Them. Z. Noskowski in Gdynia in the violin class of Katarzyna Doliwa-Dobrowolska. She started learning music at the age of 6. In addition to playing the violin, Blanka enjoys singing. In fact, she sings all the time, mostly songs from Disney movies and musicals. She had the opportunity to perform several times in concerts with her mother, the singer Bogna Forkiewicz, singing retro songs, Kashubian carols and songs by Polish composers. Blanka is a versatile girl. She practices acrobatics, tennis, is a great swimmer and skier. She is very fond of cooking and baking various cakes and cookies. In the school’s Talent Festival, she performs several roles every year as a violinist, acrobat and singer.
Jan Błażejowski, 17 years old, is a student of the second grade of the High School of Fine Arts in Gdynia – Orłowo. His specialization is graphic design. As part of artistic subjects, she learns various art techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, and design. From the first grades of primary school, he won prizes in art and photography competitions between schools, provincial and nationwide. He also attended the Music School in Gdynia, where he learned to play the piano and guitar. Janek practices tennis, he likes to play basketball, breakdancing and skiing. He is interested in film. For three years in junior high school, he was in a film and theatre class, where he made several film projects under the supervision of professionals. His film “Battlegrounds” won awards and distinctions at youth film competitions. His favourite art technique is painting pictures with acrylic pens, in which he combines the real world with fantasy. Painting one work takes at least a dozen or so hours from the moment of designing, through sketching, contouring, coloring and shading the illustration.
Barbara Wieczorek was born in 2007. She began learning to play the oboe at the age of six at the Primary and Secondary Music School. in Gdańsk in the class of Dr. Marta Różańska. She received a distinction at the Oboists Meetings in Gdynia (2013), a Laureate’s Diploma at the 2nd Oboist Meetings in Gdynia (2015), and a distinction at the 49th Biennale of Oboists. National Competition of Young Musicians K. Kurpiński in Włoszakowice (2016), distinction at the CEA Regional Auditions in Stargard Szczeciński (2016), distinction at the II Pomeranian Oboe Festival in Gdynia (2016), third place at the Starogard Chamber Auditions in Starogard Gdański (2017), Laureate’s Diploma at the III Oboists Meetings in Gdynia (2017), third prize at the VI National Chamber Music Competition with Piano in Gdańsk (2018), distinction at the Starogard Chamber Auditions in Starogard Gdański (2018). In addition, she won the first place in the XI Regional Sung Poetry Competition (2015). Basia is passionate about sports, especially acrobatics, horse riding and swimming.
Szymon Wieczorek was born in 2001 in Gdańsk. He began learning to play the clarinet at the age of 7 under the guidance of Barbara Pappelbaum-Kruczkowska, and for the last two years he has been continuing in the clarinet class of Dawid Głowacki, M.A. at the Primary and Secondary Music School in Gdańsk. As a soloist, he was awarded the following prizes: l place at the 46. National Competition of Young Musicians K. Kurpiński (Polonaise Competition, Włoszakowice, 2013), 1st place at the Pomeranian Auditions of Wind Instrument Classes (Lębork, 2014), 1st place at the XXIV Poznań Woodwind Instruments Competition (Poznań, 2016), 1st place at the March Clarinet Competition (Szczecin, 2016), Honorable Mention at the 15th and 6th West Pomeranian Clarinet Festival (Szczecin, 2010 and 2018). In the category of chamber ensembles, his achievements include: 1st prize at the 27th Starogard Chamber Music Meetings, 2nd prize at the Chamber Music with Piano Competition (ZSM Gdańsk – Wrzeszcz, 2013), 2nd place at the CEA National Auditions (Warsaw, 2014), Honourable Mention at the 12th Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski (2017), 1st prize (1st prize not awarded) at the 8th West Pomeranian Clarinet Festival (Szczecin, 2018). He is also a laureate of the Bronze Diploma of the International Music Olympiad in Tallinn (2018). His passions are composition and conducting. He has twice participated in the International Youth Music Workshops in Szczecin (2017, 2018) and in many clarinet courses conducted by m. among others. : Jan Jakub Bokun, Claudio Conti, Jean-Marc Fessard, Igor Frantisak, Florent Heau, Bogdan Ocieszak, Antonio Saiote, He is also interested in philosophy and painting.
