Oliwa Neighbourhood Budget part 2. We know the winners!

For the second time, we decided to support the initiatives of the Olivians. The second edition of the Oliwa Neighbourhood Budget – a programme aimed at developing the potential of the district, modernising the common space and helping residents to undertake activities to integrate the Oliwa community – has come to an end.

After the success of last year’s pilot edition, a pool of PLN 18,000 was allocated to co-finance the three winning projects. The sponsors of the program are, as in 2020, Olivia Business Centre and the founder of the Gdańsk Community Foundation, Andrzej Stelmasiewicz. Funding under the Neighbourhood Budget was applied for by people living and running a business in Oliwa, associations, foundations and educational institutions, and the presented projects concerned both the infrastructure of the district and events supporting the development and relations of the inhabitants of Oliwa.

The call for proposals started on 20 July and lasted until the end of August 2021. The three winning projects were selected by a jury consisting of representatives of the Gdańsk City Council, the Oliwa District, an educational institution, a cultural institution and Olivia. The winning projects are connected by their open character – accessibility for the residents of Oliwa and visitors to the district. The results of the second edition of the programme were announced during the district festival, Viva Oliwa, on 11 September this year.

The following initiatives received funding:

“Christmas Festival on the Market Square in Oliwa”, submitted by the City Initiative Association. It is a social and cultural event, which includes decorative workshops for children and adults, joint arrangement of space, a Christmas fair and music.

“Sports and educational path”, submitted by Primary School No. 35 with Sports Departments named after Jan Parandowski in Gdansk. The installation will enable outdoor fun and learning.

“Tai Chi in Oliwa”, submitted by the Park On Association. The project includes 38 hours of Tai Chi classes for people with Parkinson’s disease, caregivers and people willing to conduct this form of activity. The aim of the project is to popularize knowledge about the disease, which affects approx. 1500 people. Joint activities can have a positive impact on the level of integration of the local community. The classes are also recommended for people with neurological disorders after COVID-19.

The next edition of the Oliwa Neighbourhood Budget is planned for the second half of 2022. We invite all residents of Oliwa, entrepreneurs, associations, foundations and institutions to submit projects.

Cheers: plan your autumn trips with Olivia!

This year, autumn will be good for us. We are planning a number of activities in Olivia that will improve our mood and make us not give in to the dullness. It’s going to be a lot of fun! One of the suggestions is, of course, TRIPS! We invite you to it, traditionally, together with the 3miasto Recreation Group.

Here’s the plan for October. The offer includes Thursday short trips after work and weekend trips for the whole day. See what you’re in the mood for.

Excursions on Thursdays after work:

07.10. – Historical curiosities of the Forest Inspectors’ Route (walking tour)
14.10. – Through Sopot’s walking trails, on the trail of foxes (hiking trip)
21.10. – Through Sopot’s walking trails, on the trail of hares (hiking trip)

PS. We will return to Thursday bike tours in the spring.

Full-day excursions on Saturdays:

02.10. – Kashubian Switzerland: Radunia and Reknica Ravine (bike tour)
16.10. – Neolithic amber mine in Otomin (walking tour for families with children)
23.10. – Along the Kidron River to Kalwaria Wejherowska (hiking tour)

We will regularly inform you about them in the EVENTS section.

Autumn will be good for us!

The red hills outside the windows and the colder days leave no doubt – autumn has come to Oliwa. It’s time not only to take warmer clothes out of your closets, but also to take special care of your physical and mental health.

At Olivia, we are starting to support activities for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. On this occasion, on October 1, the façade of Olivia Star was lit up with a pink ribbon – a global symbol of the fight against breast cancer. In under the so-called On the first of October, in cooperation with Energa and UCK in Gdańsk, among others, we will promote oncological prevention. Ahead of us are lectures with the participation of specialists, bra fitters and patients who have won the fight against the disease. Details in a moment!

Since autumn requires us to take more care of our health, we will invite you to participate in events that provide the right amount of exercise. We won’t let you forget about sport! If you are hesitating to avoid the morning traffic jams by choosing a bike, we say: yes! In Olivia, there are zones for cyclists both in the outdoor area and in the garage halls.

Less sun, rain and longer evenings make our exotic garden the perfect place to spend time. Here, summer lasts all year round. In Olivia Garden, you can relax in the warmth, sipping vitamin cocktails and resting in the shade of cycads! Be sure to visit this place to recharge your batteries. Remember that as an employee of Olivia Business Centre you have free entry to Olivia Garden.

We will keep you informed about all events and ways to strengthen yourself. Stay with us and see for yourself that autumn can be healthy! Follow our news on the screens in the elevators and in the corridors of the offices,  on the web and in our social media!

We invite you to our Catering Establishments!

We would like to remind you that our Restaurants and Catering Establishments are open and you can take advantage of their offer. All of them take care of the highest safety standards. Breakfasts, lunches and lunches can also be ordered to take away.
