Psyche Zone in OBC. Stress. Friend or foe?

Feeling stressed is everyone’s experience and sometimes we have to act effectively under time pressure. It happens that it mobilizes, other times, excessive, causes negative effects on well-being and health. Can we infect others with stress? Does it harm our effectiveness at work? What can be done to improve our effectiveness? You will be able to get answers to these and other questions during a lecture by Mateusz Banaszkiewicz on 27 April at Olivia Business Centre. We will find out:

  • What way of experiencing stress is beneficial for health?
  • When, fearing tension, people cause it even more?
  • What can we do to improve our efficiency and job satisfaction?
  • What “relationship” with stress is conducive to coping?

In Olivia about difficult things. About important things.

We could see that the main driving forces that allow us to overcome obstacles in life and conquer various peaks (including the highest mountain peaks around the world!) are: passion, faith and the strength of relationships with other people during the event that took place yesterday in the O4 coworking space. About hope, the fight with oneself, the power of conversation and cooperation during the evening at OBC entitled. “Dare to know. How to reach the top in life despite obstacles – Meeting on oncological awareness” Kasia Gulczyńska and Dorota Grabowska told the story.

The life story of the main protagonist of the meeting, Kasia Gulczyńska – a mountaineer, president of the Beat Cancer Foundation working for people with cancer, winner of the Businesswoman of the Year 2015 award in the category of Activity for Women – may constitute material for a multi-volume book. And it will certainly be a source of inspiration for many people who suddenly find out that they will have to fight for life, fight cancer. Her great determination to support the sick has allowed her to create many projects that activate people and give them a chance to return to health, to overcome their own limitations, which often block us in spiritual development or, also in sports. Thanks to the cooperation with the most famous Polish mountaineers, including m.in. Adam Bielecki (mountaineer, mountaineer, Himalayan climber, first winter conqueror of eight-thousanders Gasherbrum I and Broad Peak and conqueror of K2 and Makalu), as well as Czesław Lang (track and road cyclist, Olympic vice-champion and two-time medalist of the road world championships) – manage to give strong support to the Foundation’s charges.

Dorota Grabowska, psychologist, psycho-oncologist, coordinator of the PTPO Oncology Hotline at the Provincial Oncology Centre, lecturer, talked about where to go for help, how to deal with such information, who can give us the support we need at this time.

The most important goal of this meeting is to create our awareness that it is worth taking care of our own health, that it is worth and necessary, despite fear, to support everyone who will have to fight such a great fight, the fight for health, the fight against social rejection, the fight for hope.

IT’S ALWAYS WORTH IT.
