Let’s make Olivia green!

Dear Residents,

As you know, on May 13 we are starting the reconstruction of our patio. We are greening Olivia. For you. We create a wooded space, full of grass and flowers, where you will be able to rest, relax and delight. The project is large, its implementation takes time, so we divided the work into stages.

The first one includes the development of the area between the Olivia Star building and Olivia Six, which will allow us to create a new, functional outdoor space. The works will take several weeks and we will be able to enjoy the refreshed part of the patio in the summer.

We make every effort to ensure that everything runs smoothly and does not interfere with all everyday functioning in Olivia. Access to the revolving door from the Olivia Six side will be provided throughout the duration of our works.

Below we present a visualization of the space after the reconstruction.
Here you will find a plan with an indication of the place where the work will be carried out
(marked in green).

Green Power! Keep your fingers crossed!

Olivia Quest. Game Over!

Breaking news… You’ve finished the game master. We’ll sum up all the fun in a moment, but today we’re letting you know that as many as 58 daredevils made it to the finals. 645 players took part in Olivia Quest!

The Grand Finale will take place on April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at O4 Coworking,
And there can only be one winner!

We keep our fingers crossed!

Shanty concerts overlooking the sea but 130 meters above the ground

Shanty concerts with a view of the sea are most often associated with small seaside bars or performances at festivals organized in summer resorts. Meanwhile, Olivia Centre shows that sea shanties are also perfect for a business centre 130 metres above sea level. The view of the Bay of Gdansk, the breeze of the sea and the perfect atmosphere are important, and there is no shortage of them in Olivia.

“From the very beginning, the assumption was that the concerts would be cyclical ,” says Marek Chwal, guitarist, vocalist, composer and songwriter of the band “Trzy majtki”, which regularly performs on the 32nd floor of Olivia Star. – MThe place is beautiful, offers a wonderful panorama of the Tri-City, as well as a view of the bay. Songs about the sea sound exceptionally pleasant in such an environment. We have been playing on the 32nd floor for over 1.5 years now and I believe that we fit in well with this place, because the audience is growing from concert to concert. We have regulars, but also practically every time there is someone new. Our music is not a classic shanty. It’s more of a very contemporary sea song. Those who visit us for the first time are often surprised by the spontaneity, jumpiness and energy we give. Regularly, at every concert, the audience gets excited to have fun and dance. It also gives us a lot of satisfaction when we see such a spontaneous and joyful reaction.

The team consists of shanties enthusiasts, who are very busy on a daily basis. One of the “Briefs”, Marek Chwal, works at Oliviai Centre as a Senior Project Manager at Epam Systems. Music is a springboard and quite an intense hobby for them, as the band plays concerts all over Poland and sometimes abroad in the summer season. He has just started working on his third album, which, surprisingly, is being recorded at the Olivia Centre. – Olivia is a perfect combination of business and maritime passions – emphasizes Maciej Kotarski from Olivia Centre. – In Olivia Yacht Club there are several sailing formats, available to Residents throughout the year, and from April to October even several options per week. All of this is very popular among the Residents, and the monthly shanty concerts are a brilliant development of the club’s activities. During concerts, the 32nd floor turns into our harbour club pub. We regularly attend these concerts, usually the whole crew from a given cruise comes. Last but not least, “Three Panties” really sound great, and their original songs are the best, especially since they directly refer to our close environment, for example Sopot fishermen. It’s an honour that we can support them by providing a place to record an album and that they have become our olive band! This is the second music band operating in Olivia, together with the Olivia Centre Choir!

As Marek Chwal emphasizes, combining professional work and recording an album is not an easy task. – The work is laborious, mainly because we often can’t agree on a common date for recordings. Nevertheless, we are slowly moving forward. The album will be fully original. The lyrics are mainly written by Edward Hańcza, but there will also be a piece by Łukasz Jabłoński. There will also be adaptations of well-known English-language songs, not necessarily shanties, but with their own Polish, maritime lyrics. We want everyone to find something for themselves. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Olivia Centre for providing us with the studio space. This is a great comfort for us. We don’t want to make a clear statement about the date of “launching” the album, but we hope that it will be possible before the summer, and if not, then certainly in the autumn. And of course, we will celebrate this occasion together with our audience at many concerts. Definitely also in Olivia 32 p. We will play a concert promoting the new album.

Shanty concerts are another unconventional cultural and entertainment project that is carried out at the Olivia Centre. A big surprise may be the fact that every Friday on 32 p. Olivia Star, the highest office building in northern Polish, hosts discos, attracting a permanent group of lovers of good music, stunning views and delicious cuisine late in the evening. Olivia also has an outdoor terrace where DJ parties were organized, which in the glow of the setting sun gave an incomparable effect. Olivia’s openness to tourists and residents is also evidenced by the award of the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, awarded to Olivia on the occasion of the International Tourism Day in 2020. So far, it has been the only award that has been granted to office buildings for the development of the tourist offer of a given region. The largest Polish business centre already has in its portfolio theatre performances and concerts of such stars of the Polish stage as Krystyna Janda, Leszek Możdżer, Daria Zawiałow, Mrozu and Krzysztof Zalewski. Over 1700 events take place annually in Olivia, so it can be considered that it has become the center of not only work, but also the cultural and entertainment life of the Tri-City.

It is worth noting that Olivia has been a project that has been developed for years with the residents of the entire agglomeration and tourists in mind. This is also evidenced by

Olivia Garden

– an exotic garden where 3.5 thousand people are waiting for guests. plants reaching up to 11 meters in height, representing more than 400 species and coming from 5 continents. There are 11 restaurants in Olivia, including
Arco by Paco Perez
and
Treinta y Tres,
located on the 33rd floor of Olivia Star. Both prestigious restaurants are run by Paco Pérez, one of the most successful chefs in the world, so far awarded 5 stars by the prestigious Michelin culinary guide, and Antonio Arcieri, winner of one star.

Let’s do it!

Bayer office inspired by Design Anatomy’s Olive Oil

The office of one of the oldest residents of Olivia Centre has undergone a metamorphosis. Adapted to the latest trends, the
Bayer Group’s
office was created in the spirit of less waste and is based on a new workspace strategy applicable throughout the group. Design Anatomy

, whose portfolio includes over 200,000 euros, is responsible for the project. m.kw. designed and finished office spaces. Bayer has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary at the Olivia Centre. It’s one of the longest-standing companies here, so it’s time to completely change the interiors in line with current trends.

“Our common goal was to adapt the premises to the changing needs and expectations of our employees ,” says Anna Branicka, lead architect at Design Anatomy. – The project was implemented as part of Bayer’s Next Normal Office Concept. Based on it, we have introduced numerous changes in the functionality of the office, maintaining the existing layout of walls and ceilings. It was important to us that the implementation was carried out in the spirit of less waste, thanks to which we were able to optimize the costs of modernization.

The open space has been divided into smaller, more intimate zones, which is conducive to effective communication and cooperation between employees. Private offices have been redesigned in favor of more flexible and accessible spaces that are conducive to various forms of work and relaxation. The newly designed spaces include quiet work rooms, relax rooms providing a place to relax and recharge batteries, and snooze rooms allowing employees to take a short nap during the day. All this to improve the comfort of work, concentration and productivity of employees.

At the same time, the offices have gained a completely new style. The main theme of the project are references to Oliwa, the historic district of Gdańsk where the Olivia Centre is located. A range of warm reds and greens refers to the surrounding landscape. We made sure that there were a lot of plants in specially designed pots and even in the walls of acoustic booths – says Barbara Wasilewska, architect at Design Anatomy. – We have introduced many solutions to improve the comfort of work: wall panels and openwork partitions, separating individual work zones, carpets with high acoustic parameters. The restaurant has become more flexible and user-friendly. We are glad that we were able to be part of the process of change taking place, which reflects the business dynamics and the beauty of the world around us. It was a great challenge for us.

“Bayer’s new office not only implements new trends, but has also become an exemplary solution that arouses great interest among other tenants of our centre ,” says Maciej Kotarski from Olivia Centre. – On a regular basis, during sales talks, we visit this office, showing how creative and designer a modernly designed office space can look. It arouses universal admiration and is often a contribution to putting conversations on a new track.

Olivia Star with green financing

Olivia Star received a Green Loan from three existing lenders at the same time; A consortium of Santander Bank Polska S.A., BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. and Bank Millennium S.A. Olivia is the first office developer in Poland to announce that it has obtained this type of financing. The refinancing loan required a detailed verification of the implemented solutions for the refinancing of the loan. sustainable development, thanks to which it was possible to obtain attractive financing conditions and increase it to the amount of nearly EUR 83 million. Olivia Star is a part of Olivia Centre, the largest business centre in Poland. Legal services were provided by KLBF Kycia Legal.

“We are glad to continue our cooperation with our partners, as green financing confirms that the adopted strategy in the field of responsible business conduct is appreciated not only by tenants, who willingly choose Olivia as their office location, but also by banks financing investments related to ambitious criteria for green real estate ,” he says Krzysztof Raćkos, Olivia’s Chief Financial Officer.

Obtaining green financing is a confirmation that the solutions implemented in the Olivia Star building – the highest building in northern Polish – meet international standards and are in line with the direction of good, ecological practices that the entire real estate market should follow. Among the criteria that are evaluated are the energy efficiency of systems in buildings, increasing their stability and failure-free operation, monitoring of systems to counteract defects and risks to the natural environment and people working in buildings, as well as pro-social solutions affecting the well-being of employees.

– Green Loan meets the Green Loan Principles developed by the Loan Market Association (LMA), an international association based in London that brings together more than 850 banks, institutional investors, law firms and credit rating agencies. For many years, the LMA has been developing standards for documents, including loan agreements, which are now a commonly used market practice in the world. This is a confirmation of the fact that Olivia is a leader in the commercial real estate industry in Poland and in the world on many levels – says Bogusław Wieczorek, attorney-at-law, Plenipotentiary of the Management Board for public relations.

The special solutions implemented in Olivia include the modernization of the cooling system in the building, thanks to which its efficiency increased by 30%, and the modernization of the water chiller (increase in efficiency by up to 20%). A new automation of air handling units was introduced (reduction of energy consumption by 15%), installation of 100% LED lighting and air ionizers, thanks to which employees can breathe air free of viruses, PM 2.5 and PM 10 dust, free from allergens, mold and fungi. A significant part of the monitoring system was also digitized, which allowed to increase the level of security and reduce the costs of surveillance, and thus the costs of renting space. Thanks to these and a number of other solutions, Olivia has obtained numerous certificates and awards, among which the most important are the BREEAM certification at the Excellent level and the WELL HSR certificate, in which Olivia was the first in the world to obtain 25 points out of 25 possible, in 22 basic categories and 3 additional ones, related to innovations implemented in its area. Olivia is one of the first Polish business centres, despite its lack of commitment, but out of a sense of responsibility, to conduct ESG reporting using the global GRI 2021 standards and TCFD recommendations. In addition, Olivia is implementing further projects, in line with the ESG strategy (m.in. decarbonization, social) and detailed policies in the field of environmental and social responsibility based on the prepared Code of Conduct. Olivia’s commitment to climate issues is also reflected in her membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the largest global initiative for sustainable business.

“Such a comprehensive approach to thinking about sustainable development is our consistently implemented standard, including care for Olivia’s natural and social environment,” says Agata Kwapisiewicz, ESG Officer at Olivia Centre. – Our green solutions not only translate into increased business competitiveness, but also attractiveness in the eyes of Gdańsk residents and tourists. The first green loan in the group shows that such thinking also bears fruit in the form of financing granted.

Olivia Quest: look out for the signs!

Do you love puzzles, charades, riddles and mysteries?
Do you have the My Olivia app and confirmed Resident status?
Face the Game Master in Olivia Quest! Peek into the mystery chest, look out for signs, guess the words of the day,
to finally discover the MASTER CODE and win 1000 PLN!

REMEMBER TO UPDATE THE MY OLIVIA APP TO VERSION 2.3.0

iOS: 2.3.0 | ANDROID: 2.3.0

Meet the mysterious master of the OLIVIA QUEST game. He is not a good, innocent man. This is someone who makes a bet with another Mockingbird that NO ONE can solve his riddles. He arrogantly thinks that he can even put MONEY on the win, because his tasks are difficult enough that no one will win this money…

The Mystery Master officially plans to reward the one who gives the MASTER PASSWORD, and in the GRAND FINAL, the smartest, most efficient, most team-oriented, fastest, and at the same time – creatively beats other Players. The Final itself is not only an opportunity to get to know the Champion – it is also a Clear Determination of who is better – the Competitors or the Champion.

The way to the Final is simple – guess the MASTER CODE and enter it in the My Olivia app in “OLIVIA QUEST”. The Master will confirm in due course whether it is correct. The Master does not reveal how many words the password has, where it came from or what it is. But he doesn’t leave Contestants helpless either. He has left as many as 8 traces – tasks whose solutions are hints!

The more tasks you do, the more hints you will get and the easier it will be to come up with the final password. Where to look for these “traces – tasks”? How to get hints to the password? All you have to do is play, knowing the rules below!

  • To know the MASTER PASSWORD, you have to guess the WORD OF THE DAY.
  • To find out the WORD OF THE DAY, simply take part in the Olivia Quest! Think, combine, look for clues, look carefully…. Each hint consists of three elements, and they are:

SCREENS in the elevators – they will never be explicit, they will never be direct, but they will help! One day – one screen hint;

THE STORY BOX IN OLIVIA STAR – each successive clue will require you to put your hand into the abyss of the Master’s chest and recognize the shape, which will also hint at something;;

RIDDLE/ REBUS – you will find it in a different Olivia building each time – but once located, it will be left there until the end of the Game! Of course, we will inform you on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24on the mystery chest and in the My Olivia app, in which building this riddle is located! Its solution also brings you closer to the WORD OF THE DAY!

  • You can check the correctness of the WORD OF THE DAY in the My Olivia app. You click on OLIVIA QUEST, type in the WORD OF THE DAY and get feedback – BRAVE!/ TRY NEXT. You can keep trying until you do!!
  • Remember that you will be supported by our Superhero Arek Starek! If you see him, for example, on the screen, it means that it is worth paying attention to THIS screen!!
  • We present hints on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24.

If you are already sure that you know the MASTER CODE – you can enter it in the My Olivia app in OLIVIA QUEST in the space ENTER MASTER CODE. Remember, you will only find out if you guessed*you just before the finale, which is April 24. The Grand Finale will be held on April 25, “live” at O4 Coworking. It is well known, there can be only one Winner.

In these buildings look for puzzles – hints. Remember, once placed, they stay there until the end of the game.

And some more useful tips.

  • To play, you must have the My Olivia app and confirmed Resident status.
  • You are guided to the game by the Olivia Quest.
  • You can join the fun at any time!
  • The Game Master opens sign-ups for the game as early as April 8.
  • The game starts on April 9.
  • If you want to increase your chances of guessing the MASTER CODE, be alert and look for hints on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24.
  • The hints will lead you to the WORDS OF THE DAY.
  • You enter and check the WORDS OF THE DAY in the My Olivia app.
  • The more you learn the WORDS OF THE DAY, the better your chances of guessing the MASTER PASSWORD.
  • You will find out if your password is correct only on April 24.
  • You can enter your MASTER PASSWORD at any time in the My Olivia app (in OLIVIA QUEST you enter your password in the “ENTER MASTER PASSWORD” field).
  • If you send the correct MASTER CODE, we will invite you to the Grand Finale, which will be held on April 25 at 11:00 am at O4 Coworking in Olivia Four.
  • The winner will win PLN 1000!

Regulations of the Olivia Quest game

Faculty of Law and Administration UG with Zero Stress green zone designed by Design Anatomy

The zone of concentration among the vegetation, which was created in one of the buildings of the University of Gdańsk, is the work of Design Anatomy – a studio that designs offices in Olivia Centre on a daily basis. The idea of creating a green zone came from the students themselves and was implemented as part of the Academic Participatory Budget. The synergy resulted in a one-of-a-kind chill-out zone.

The Zero Stress Zone was established in a secluded part of the building of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. From the very beginning of the Faculty’s existence, this place was intended for a winter garden, but it was only as part of the cooperation with Olivia Centre that it gained the name of a real leisure zone. The project included the revitalization of green zones, the construction of new modular furniture, which allowed for the separation of a zone not only for in-depth learning among greenery, but also for the creation of a place for official and less obliging meetings. The architects took care of new lighting, separate relaxation, work and integration zones, as well as appropriate acoustics and improved the aesthetic values of the winter garden. As a result, the space has been optically enlarged, while maintaining its seclusion and user-friendliness.

As he points out, Ph.D. Małgorzata Balwicka – SzczyrbaProf. UG, Vice-Dean for The project was inspired by the spaces of Olivia Centre: As part of the neighbourhood visit, we had the opportunity to learn about interesting solutions that entrepreneurs are currently introducing to their office spaces. The changes indicate how workplaces are moving towards places of socialization, integration and cooperation. It was very inspiring for us and allowed us to entrust the changes at our Faculty to experts who perfectly sense the change in trends in the design of ultra-modern and friendly office spaces. The choice turned out to be exceptionally good – their knowledge also proved to be the preparation of unique places conducive to learning and integration of the student community. We hope for further cooperation with Olivia both in the area of interior design and in many other fields!

Moreover, as the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk emphasizes, Ph.D. Wojciech Zalewski Prof. UG cooperation with Olivia Centre is also important because a significant number of students of the faculty choose a career path not strictly related to the profession of judge, notary, legal counsel or advocate: About 60% of the students of our faculty continue their careers in business. Thanks to our cooperation with Olivia Centre, we want to emphasize our openness to the values of the business community.

I remember this space from my student days – recalls Bogusław Wieczorek, legal counsel and representative of the Management Board of Olivia Centre. I am glad that today I can support the cooperation between my Alma Mater and Olivia. I would like to congratulate the faculty authorities and the students themselves for thinking wisely and modernly about the place they use every day. Experience from the office market definitely proves that a well-designed space supports creative work, focus and moments of rest. Entrusting the project to an experienced team of architects, rather than a random one, is certainly a good choice.

The Zero Stress Zone is part of a broader, gradually implemented project at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. The changes also include improving the aesthetics of a much larger part of the building. With the use of the work of prof. Grzegorz Klaman from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk creates a passage of art and inspiration on the mezzanine, located above the Zero Stress zone. In its vicinity, in the place of the former smoking room, a modern art gallery was created, adapted for the organization of student meetings and discussions. There is also a sculpture by Igor Mitoraj.

This zone has always had potential and good energy ,” says Anna Branicka, lead architect at Design Anatomy. – Beautifully lit with natural light, filled with greenery, it was a natural, though unused, meeting place. All she needed was the right arrangement. Together with Olivia Centre, almost as part of the “neighbourly” cooperation, we offered assistance in the design and implementation of the ZERO STRESS zone. The fruit of our partnership is a charming, cozy corner wrapped in greenery, with warm, soft light, a place for integration and relaxation, with a view of the… Olivia Star! We hope that it will serve students and staff for many years to come. Creating biophilic zones in existing buildings is always a good investment.
