Children’s Day is a great opportunity for family integration and an active afternoon after work and school.
Olivia Centre and Grupa Rekreacyjna 3miasto invite you to an afternoon family bike trip and a picnic with a bonfire! The route leads among the picturesque mid-forest peat bogs of the Otomiński Forests.
Along the way, we will also take two short breaks: the first on the headland, in the southern part of Lake Otomińskie, the second at the Neolithic open-pit mine in the Bursztynowa Góra nature reserve.
At the end of the trip, by the fire, each child will also receive a gift map of Kashubian tourist attractions.

Who is our route aimed at? The family trip and bicycle picnic is addressed to young and old, amateurs of active bicycle tourism, who like quiet off-road trips combined with relaxation in the bosom of nature.
The route is arranged in such a way that you can take with you a 7-8 year old child who will cover the route on their own or a younger one riding as a passenger in a child seat or trailer, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The tour is open to children from 7-8 years old who:

• have the ability to ride a bike with gears on their own in the field,
• cope well with overcoming off-road hills and natural obstacles,
• can ride in a group, off-road at a speed of at least 10 km/h

We do not take children on the trip who:

• are just learning to ride two wheels,
• ride the entire width of the road, unable to maintain balance in a group,
• do not have a bike with gears and the ability to change them in relation to the terrain,
• They have no experience in off-road driving and overcoming natural obstacles.

How to prepare for a trip, what to take?

We will move away from increased traffic.
We will traverse the Otomin Forests mainly along paved forest paths and fire roads, which are also led by local tourist trails.
Here and there there will also be narrow forest paths, terrain unevenness, roots, sand.
After all, the forest is not a seaside promenade, which is why we recommend a mountain bike with gears for a comfortable ride.
People with a weaker condition can go on an electric bike.

Please note:

• Bicycle helmet (mandatory for all participants regardless of age)
• A working bike and basic repair tools in the event of a breakdown,
• At least one spare tube (of the correct size),
• Appropriate clothing appropriate to the weather, also for a change,
• Provisions for the journey and drinks (we take a few short breaks on the way),
• Spray against mosquitoes and ticks.

Driving pace: adapted to children, but not less than 8-10 km/h off-road

Route length: 15 kilometres  

Bonfire at the end of the trip:

At the end of our adventure, we will light a bonfire in a designated place, near a parking space.
The organizer provides fire starters, wood, metal sticks for roasting sausages and other delicacies, garbage bags and good fun. Participants organize on their own: appetizers, sausages, drinks, etc.

Provide:

• Assistance of guides along the tour route (leader and closer)
• First aid kit, pre-medical aid,
• Assistance in repairing the bike, in case of breakdown
• Bonfire, kindling, wood, garbage disposal from the bonfire
• Metal forks for roasting delicacies on a campfire
• A souvenir map of tourist attractions of Kashubia,
• Commemorative photos up to 2-3 days after the event
