One of the basic goals set by the European Union is to increase the competitiveness of the economy, also in terms of supporting innovation. It is implemented by various programs, i.e. European Funds for Modern Economy (FENG) and Horizon Europe, which support cooperation between the economic and scientific communities. The idea of the programs is to transform the results of R+D work into widely available products or services. This is a response to real economic and social challenges.
Effective transfer of knowledge to the economy and increasing the competitiveness of entities implementing innovations are possible with effective and efficient management of intellectual property along with its legal protection. A properly defined strategy for the protection of industrial property is often an element of applications for funding and is subject to its assessment.
