The social media giant has opened its operations center in Gdansk. In the first period, 80 jobs were created, and by 2023 the team will expand to 500 people. The branch will support companies from the SME sector in their promotional campaigns on Facebook and related applications.
The newly opened operations centre will advise small and medium-sized enterprises on their marketing, recruitment and sales campaigns. Initially, it will provide support in Polish and Russian, and eventually also in Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, German and English. Support will cover all communication and social media platforms managed by Facebook: Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. The local office will be managed by Telus International.
We are glad that Telus International is growing in Olivia – it has been our resident for many years and we are grateful for the trust and further expansions – says Maciej Kotarski, Director of the Commercialization Department at Olivia Centre. – We are even more pleased with the success of our resident – the fact that one of the most well-known consumer brands in the world has officially announced cooperation with Telus, and this cooperation is aimed at business development, i.e. small and medium-sized companies and advertisers. Olivia is the most prestigious business destination in Northern Poland, and due to its scale and growth opportunities, it is most often chosen by the world’s largest companies as the location of their operational centers. It is with great satisfaction that we receive the fact that another resident of Olivia will be providing services to the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe from here. We are developing our center with the idea of providing virtually any scale of expansion for such residents, and this example perfectly illustrates this.
The new agreement is another large lease contract that has been finalized in Olivia in recent months. Last year, a record-breaking lease agreement amounted to 15,000 m2 of office space. It was the largest lease contract in Pomerania in 2020, and at the same time the second largest in the 10-year history of this office project in Oliwa.
Olivia is gradually becoming one of the largest IT hubs in Poland. In addition to Facebook, such giants as Amazon, Sii, Epam, InfoShare, InfoShare Academy have opened their offices in its spaces so far, and Nordea’s IT center also has its offices there. It is in Olivia Centre that Amazon is developing the Ivona speech synthesizer, created in the Tri-City, which is used to intelligently read content or recognize spoken messages. It is also here that InfoShare, the organizer of the largest IT conferences in Central and Eastern Europe, has its offices, and their InfoShare Academy trains the next generation of programmers.
