Poland Business Run is not only another running event, it is above all the largest CSR and charity action in Poland. This year, Gdańsk joins 6 cities that will help the beneficiaries of Jasiek Mela’s “Beyond Horizons” Foundation on 4 September. Olivia Business Centre and Coworking O4 are partners of the entire event.
Gdańsk Business Run is the local edition of the largest charity run Poland Business Run, integrating primarily business environments simultaneously in seven cities in Poland. On the same day, at the same time, more than 20,000 runners will run in a relay race for the benefit of the beneficiaries of Jasiek Mela’s Beyond Horizons Foundation, which helps amputees on a daily basis. Each team consists of 5 members. Each of them has a distance of approx. 4 km. The races take place in the centres of Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw, Wrocław, Katowice, Łódź and Gdańsk. Since 2012, Poland Business Run has already helped 60 pupils.
The Gdańsk beneficiary is Mateusz Pędziwiatr. He is 23 years old and studies power engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology. Four years ago, on his way home, he was hit by a train. As a result of this accident, Mateusz lost an arm and a leg. He is interested in music and cars, he also loves to travel and visit new places. Before the accident, the young man was very active in sports. She still works out at the gym, but it’s not always easy. Matthew has a mismatched prosthesis that causes pain and abrasions. The “new leg” will allow him to return to an active life and make his dreams come true.
Throughout the registration period, i.e. until 4 September, the competition for all runners is active on the Huntly gamification platform available in the App Store and Google Play. The contest combines a challenge in the online world, which involves solving tasks in the app, and in reality. An example of this is a city game on a long weekend in August, during which players will have points waiting for them on the running paths of Reagan Park. Teams earn points, compete with each other for the best places and prizes, and spread knowledge about Gdańsk Business Run. The three teams that achieve the best result in the competition will win vouchers to the Runner’s Shop, dietary consultations at the Efyra Dietetics and Training Centre and training care from AWFiS Gdańsk specialists. In order to participate in the game, you need to register your team for Gdańsk Business Run and download the free Huntly mobile application (www.huntlyapp.com/download).
The Gdańsk Business Run is open to all persons who register a five-person team via the online application form available on the Gdańsk Business Run website. The entry fee for the entire team is PLN 307.50.
We cordially invite you to participate!
