One of the most important documents for our metropolis in recent years was signed in Olivia. Representatives of the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area and the contractor, NB Tricity, have signed a contract for the construction of the MEVO City Bike. The “start-up” version of the system is expected to be ready in the autumn of this year. In all 14 municipalities that are signatories, in the spring of 2019.
MEVO is the flagship and most important project implemented in Pomerania under the Regional Operational Programme. “It is the most modern public bike system of this type in Poland. In addition, with nearly 4,100 electrically assisted bicycles in the fleet, it will be the largest project of this type in the world,” said Marek Pogorzelski, spokesman for NB Tricity, during the ceremony. It is not surprising that such an important agreement was signed in Olivia Business Centre – a place from which you can observe the entire metropolis.
Let us remind you that MEVO will operate in 14 municipalities: Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Tczew, Puck, Reda, Kartuzy, Sierakowice, Somonin, Stężyca, Władysławowo, Żukowo, Pruszcz Gdański and Rumia. The contractor and supplier is NB Tricity.
The project “Construction of the OMG-G-S Metropolitan Bike” is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Programme of the Pomeranian Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020. Co-financing from EU funds amounts to PLN 17,218,259.
