Why should I change my tyres seasonally?

Summer and winter tyres are made of rubber compounds with different properties. Winter tires, because we will put them on in a moment – those that retain the right softness and grip even at sub-zero temperatures. Remember that this type of tyre is not suitable for use in spring and summer. Why? They are too soft – high temperatures and higher speeds, developed when the roads are dry, cause the tread of such a tire to wear out disproportionately faster.

When to change your tyres?

It is not possible to give a binding date for replacing summer tyres with winter tyres – it all depends on the weather conditions. Experts recommend not waiting for the first snow. The optimal time to change your tyres is when the ambient temperature drops below 7 degrees Celsius (on the plus side, it is about the daily average over several days). In such conditions, summer tyres start to lose their properties. It has been proven that the majority of accidents in autumn and winter are caused not on wet, snowy and icy roads, but on dry and seemingly safe roads, with temperatures a few degrees above zero. This is due to the fact that most drivers drive in such conditions on summer tyres that have lost their grip.
